Challenger Anorak

I’m 5’9” about 165 lbs and I ordered a large. The fit is good for me there’s room for some layers underneath. I like a lot of room to move and am happy in oversized clothing. If had a little more room without the sleeves being longer I would not be disappointed. I have only worn the coat in a light rain so can’t report on its waterproofing. I was disappointed to see two vent holes in each armpit particularly since I bought it to replace a rain coat that leaks at the armpits. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised and the vent holes won’t be a problem. The last thing I would do if I were designing a raincoat is put holes in it. There is nothing about the material of the coat that says rugged workwear to me. It is more like a light weight pack- able layer which I didn’t expect. It can certainly be something I’ll use but not exactly what I was expecting. There is also a small zipper pocket that looks like it will hold water and direct it towards the zipper if the zipper was ever inclined to leak

I work on a golf course and contrary to what you others may believe, we work in the rain and having thr best affordable rain gear is a must.

I have been wanting this style of rain jacket for a long time and was eyeing this one for some time before pulling the trigger and buying this one.

When I placed my order, I received an almost immediate response and confirmation. I received it on the date given.

I got to put it to use the next day when we received a light rain and snowfall. It passed the first test. The water and snow repelled off and I stayed dry.

The features that impressed me the most are: the fit, especially when I was wearing layers and the ease that I was able to put it on. I credit the zipper on the side for this. Opening that zipper not only made it easier to put it on, I was able to put on fast. Also the front pocket is large and roomy enough to put things in and to pull them out if needed.

The one thing that held me back from buying this sooner was that there were no rain pants to go along with it. Hopefully, rain pants will be offered (preferably with belt loops).

My grade for warmth level should not be taken as a criticism. I did not buy this to keep me warm, I bought it to keep me dry. It has served this purpose the one time I have worn it and as I said earlier, it makes for a good extra layer for the cold and you get hit with some wet weather.
