ROYALS ANNOUNCE NEW FOUNTAIN THEMED AREAS AT THE K DRI DUCK Traders, Pepsi and Miller Lite featured in New Outfield Plaza
KANSAS CITY, MO (February 25, 2009) – The Kansas City Royals announced today the three new featured fountain areas of the renovated outfield at Kauffman Stadium – the DRI DUCK Fountain Seats, the Pepsi Party Porch and Miller Lite Fountain Bar – will be ready for fans to enjoy for the Royals home opener on April 10 when the Royals host the New York Yankees. Game time is set for 3:10 p.m.
The DRI DUCK Fountain Seats, located in left field, will feature a $7 ticket available at the Kauffman Stadium Box Office. Reminiscent of the popular “GA” seats, the DRI DUCK Fountain Seats will only be available for sale on the day of the game (excluding Opening Day). DRI DUCK Traders, an Overland Park, Kan., based outerwear company, will be adding additional value to the section by providing the first 100 fans to sit in the section each game with free baseball caps designed by DRI DUCK. In addition, all fans seated in the new area at the April 10 home opener will receive a free Royals baseball cap designed by DRI DUCK. The featured baseball cap design will change throughout the season.

Additionally, the Royals nationally acclaimed Field Crew, led by Head Groundskeeper Trevor Vance, will don DRI DUCK Traders outerwear during the season. “DRI DUCK work wear is perfect for our Field Crew and the extreme conditions that we often work in,” said Vance. “It’s great to be working with a hometown company with such a great product line.”
The new Pepsi Party Porch is located within the right-field fountains and is a standing room only terrace where fans can watch the game from a perspective never offered before at The K. The Pepsi Party Porch will be open to all fans at every home game, accommodating nearly 200 fans at a time on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We will warn fans that they will get wet some days,” said Mark Tilson, Royals Vice President-Sales & Marketing. “With such great views and the atmosphere provided by the iconic fountains, the Pepsi Party Porch will become a signature area of the new stadium. We can’t wait for fans to have the opportunity to experience the game from this vantage point.”
Throughout the season, Pepsi will host exclusive sampling opportunities and special activities for fans in the area. There will also be several Royals ticket discounts tied into Pepsi products. "Pepsi is proud to continue our long-standing relationship with the Royals,” said John Barnes, Vice President Field Sales for PepsiAmericas West Division. “We are excited about the stadium renovations and even more excited about the addition of the Pepsi Party Porch. We hope many fans will join us in this new opportunity to view the game from a very unique view point while enjoying a fun atmosphere with friends and family."
The new outfield area will also feature the Miller Lite Fountain Bar flanked by the DRI DUCK Fountain Seats in left field and located on the former Jumbotron base. The open-air bar will be accessible to all fans in the area and will feature a large selection of Miller products.
